Reading Challenges 2016!♥

Saturday, August 01, 2015

  • Hi readers, I'm back!  It's that time of the year again. These are the reading challenges I'm hoping to participate in 2016! Last year goals are here.
  • Fairytale Retelling Challenge is hosted by Melanie from TheDailyProphecy
  • I did read and love many fantasy books last year, and the challenge I failed btw. I read about 12 books max and my goal was 26.  I'm hoping to read 16-20 books this year, aiming for Wise Princess since last year I wasn't wise at all.
  • Fairy tale Retelling Lists and Shelves
  • The main goal is to read fairy tale retellings. You can also read books on mythology retellings and folk tales, upto you! You can read books from any year or audience, as long as they are retellings of some classic tales out there. You have until Feb 1st to join.
  • Below are some of the books that I find interesting and I'm hoping to read ..!  Can we see how STUNNING these covers are? Fantasy novels have the best covers.

Books Read for FairyTale Retelling Challenge:

2016 Debut Author Challenge is hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl

  • Goodreads list of 2016 Debut Author Challenge books.
  • Google Spreadsheet of 2016 debuts.
  • I'm hoping to read 15 2016 Debut Books & oh, I passed my challenge last year!
  • Self-published books do not count, and ARC's count as long as they're published in 2016 but not in 2017.
  • You can join the challenge whenever you want.
  • The debuts must have a publishing date in 2016 and must have been read between January 1, 2016 and January 31, 2016 (this extra month allows readers adequate time to read December debuts) in order to count.
  • This challenge is open internationally, so are the monthly prize packs.
  • Below are some of the books that I'm hoping to read soon .!

Books Read for Debut Challenge:

This is the challenge called The United States of YA hosted by Epic Reads.

They have a different YA book for each state, these are all very popular books in the genre section. I have read only 13 out of the 47, which is sad. I'm hoping to read all of the books listed on the challenge, let's see how it goes for this year! I'm aiming to read atleast 10 books from this challenge this year.

This is an unofficial challenge though, they don't have any link ups or anything - you're free to join by no bounds. Below are some of the books I'm hoping to read.

Books Read:
1) Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
2) My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
3) The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
4)  Divergent by Vernonica Roth
5) The Fault in Our Stars by John Geen
6) Wake by Lisa McMann
7) Crank by Ellen Hopkins
8) Left & Leftovers by Sarah Tregay
9) The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessn
10) If I Stay by Gayle Forman

1) The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
2) Everneath by Brodi Ashton
3) Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Personal New Adult challenge is a challenge I set for myself a year ago. NA has been around for a couple of years now, and most of the novels have failed to impress me, although, NA is one of my favorite genre. It's a complicated relationship.

Goodreads Listopia.

I'm hoping to discover some gems in a bunch of stones. Last year, I have read about 20 books that are NA, and I have really liked about 4 books which isn't a lot. I'm hoping to read 15 NA books next year for 2016. Below are the books I'm hoping to read .. ! I'm most def. not a fan of NA covers, except the book Rule. I love that guy on that cover *swoons.

Books Read in 2016:
1)

  • Goodreads Challenge 2016 (Personal Challenge)
  • My goal this year is to read 250 books. Last year my goal was 300, unfortunately I couldn't reach it fully and I only read 272 books. Lets see how this goes!
  • These are some of my books below in my immediate TBR list.
