The three sisters grew up not knowing their father and not quite catching a break. But it looks like their luck is about to change when they find out the secret identity of their long-lost dad—a billionaire Las Vegas hotel owner who wants them to come live in a gorgeous penthouse hotel suite. Suddenly the Strip's most exclusive clubs are all-access, and with an unlimited credit card each, it should be easier than ever to fit right in. But in a town full of secrets and illusion, fitting in is nothing compared to finding out the truth about their past."

Well hello Gossip Girl .. Meet your Competition: The Secret Diamond Sisters.

I love reading chick-literature, it's filled with so much drama and I love it. The three secret heiress have the time of their lives in the crazy city, Vegas. I can just picture them walking.
Peyton, the rebellious child. Courtney, the good child. Savannah, the perfect young child.

My favorite character would have to be Peyton.I liked Courtney as well, she was independent and a bookworm, but Peyton had my heart from the start. She's rebellious, open minded, kind of wild, but I love that she wasn't easily influenced by the wealth of her father's.

Savannah, on the other hand. I debated whether I liked her or not - She was desperate for her new father's love and popularity. I guess, she's young and naive - she's barely fifteen years old, I enjoyed reading about her character, but she seemed like a no brainer to me.
The plot build up was amazing, this book had me hooked from the start. Three young girls struggling in a world to live, and then their life changes. I was fascinated reading about their bodyguards, shopping sprees, credit cards, partying, and gym and spa routines. I find it boring to read when it's already part of someone's routine - but the transformation of these teens was just that good. I couldn't wait to find out what happens next.

Of course, these girls can't have it all: Enters their rival Madison.

Madison is a spoiled brat, a typical mean girl. She clearly cannot stand these new girls, since everyone's attention is on them and not her anymore. I loved her character though. I love reading about mean girls in novels and watching them on screen - I just wait for the moment karma punches them in the face and I get so excited to read that part. This is a trilogy book so hoping that happens to Madison soon! In real life, mean girls/bullies are horrible though.

  • The male characters sounded fascinating too. My favorite male character would have to be Peyton's bodyguard Jackson. Bodyguard romance is a great idea.

  • Michelle Madow has a talent for writing. She captivated me from the start with her novel. I finished this book in just a matter of few hours, I couldn't sleep without knowing what happened once, so yes I stayed up late until 5 a.m to finish this book. *Guilty as charged*. I can't help not finishing a book I liked.

  • Once I finished this, the next day I picked the next installment, (Diamonds in The Rough) in the series, to see what happens to these girls! If you're looking for a great chick-lit read, I would recommend this. This series has deceit, love, power, fame, family, jealousy, and so much more. It's fun, humorous, and has a great story overall.  I loved this book, I'm going to be adding it to my favorites list! I would give it a perfect 5 butterflies for sure.

Diamonds in The Rough (Book #2 )
Michelle Madow

Series: The Secret Diamond Sisters (Book 2)

Synposis: "All-access doesn't mean no problems. The three Diamond sisters survived the summer in style after coming to live with their long-lost billionaire father. But making a place for themselves at their exclusive new Las Vegas private school is throwing them any number of gold-plated curves. Savannah's YouTube stardom turns into a Sweet Sixteen reality show extravaganza--with complimentary enemies on the side. Dangerous flirtations don't keep Peyton from a gamble that will risk far more than she planned to bet. And when Courtney and the sisters' archenemy, Madison, uncover two explosive secrets, it will rock even this town of glittering illusion--and turn their lives upside down all over again. Sisterhood, first crushes, and scandalous secrets explode in book two of Michelle Madow's riveting series, The Secret Diamond Sisters. "

Aaah .. I just love this cover. It suits the title so much. Secrets. Diamonds. Michelle Madow has some of the best covers, I like staring it sometimes. Call me creepy, but I adore books. Don't you stare at someone you like? I don't judge books by covers, however, seeing the cover for this one made me want to read it. This is a must-read if you have read the first installment of The Secret Diamond Sisters. Bring in more plot twists, drama, deceit, secrets, romance ..  I was hoping to read this book soon, so I'm blessed to receive an ARC copy before it's officially released!

  • I ended this book once again before sleeping, these books are seriously messing up my sleep schedule. Sometimes, my mom catches me reading late at night with my night lamp and I get a lecture. I'm reading books ma,  you should be happy :) This book left me on a cliffhanger.. Now I have to wait for the final book.
  • This book helped me sympathize with Savannah a bit, she does seem dumb sometimes, but she's just immature. It must suck being the new kid though. I find it weird everyone wants to be her best friend because she is Savannah Diamond - one of THE heiress, and Savannah goes along with it.
  • This book starts  a later after where the first book left off. The girls are starting at a private school now, I love the idea of private schools. They seem so stuck up and shallow in books, which is why I like them. I wouldn't like a shallow school in real life though, if you're wondering.
  • Peyton is getting a little too chummy chummy with her teacher, and her forbidden romance with her bodyguard Jackson is so cute. Savannah is on her way of becoming a star, and she is caught between a love triangle. Brett is off-limits to Courtney, but hey you can't help true love..

  • Sequels do sometimes ruin a book for me if it's not as good as the first book. However, the author did made a lot of effort to make this book great- I love plot twists, I just felt there were too many plot twists in just one book, more than necessary.
  • Too many plot twists makes a book predictable. One of the plot twists in this book #2  doesn't really matter now.  In the first book, the teens found out they're the daughters of Adrian Diamond. That was a great twist. There is another great one in this book with Madison, and one that's not as important which was with Courtney. I believe,  if a plot twist can be executed well - then it should be there.
  • Michelle Madow doesn't fail to disappoint in her books, her series is amazing. It has a lot of craziness and drama, so read it if you can handle that.I cannot wait for the next installment in this series, I'm sure the author would be a fantastic job of ending it well, and answering all of my questions. The first book in the series was perfect, Diamonds in the Rough would be a four butterflies for me.

  14. I must admit, I don't watch Gossip Girl and so don't really know anything about it except "xoxo Gossip Girl" (since people parody it so often haha), but I have heard that it's sort of one of those "guilty pleasure" type shows. I actually quite like indulging in that sort of thing, not gonna lie :P

Sounds like there's some excellent character development in this series! I might have to check it out at some point :)

  17. It's always nice when you find that rare sequel that really does follow up to the first book. And I am so glad you are unashamed of what genre you like to read! I don't think I will like Gossip Girl, but this does sound more for me as well. I am glad you enjoyed the first two ^^

    1. Thanks so much! I liked the first few books of Gossip Girl, then it just got a little overrated. I really liked this series though, it's so entertaining and actually is good. x
