Blogger Series #2| Are Blogger Networks worth it?

Saturday, October 04, 2014

This post continues our blogger series.. You can read the first one: How to start your own blog here I've seen so many blogger networks, and I thought I provide my insight on it. I've had a lot of people ask me how do I get products such as makeup, skincare, and books to review? Some of the products I receive come from blogger networks!

I will be posting another detailed post about receiving product reviews in the future. I've tried out many blogger networks in the past - those didn't work out for me but the ones listed below have. You can see the Blogger networks I participate in at the end of the blog on the right hand corner. These are the main ones I participate in.

1) BzzAgent was the first network I joined even when I didn't have a blog. A blog is not required to participate in this network. You have to sign up, and complete several surveys - that can take upto thirty minutes to 1 hour. The higher Bzz score you have, the better. It took me a couple of months to get my first campaign from BzzAgent. Looking at your surveys, they invite you to participate in campaigns relating to you. You can always refuse if it doesn't appeal to you.

I received items from several campaigns within six months Bic razors, Paula Skincare, Crest Toothpaste, and so on.  However, it is great if you're first starting out and aren't as busy!

2) Influenster  is another network that does not require a blog. Again, it contains taking many surveys and doing any product reviews to get your first vox-box. The vox-box is offered based on your surveys and reviews. You don't always get the box though, it can take a couple of months before you actually do. They are quite choosy. I mostly did skincare and beauty surveys. I have stopped recently, It is too much work to do little surveys everytime, and I don't have much time anymore.

I received my first vox box within three weeks. I received a care package of Aveeno moisturizers. You can receive high-quality products from Maybelline and many other brands.

3) IFabbo requires a blog. It is mainly beauty and skincare endorsements. You have to be approved for this though, you can't automatically sign up and gain access. If you have a good blog, even if small - it should be no problem getting in. I had to take a long survey ONCE, it was mainly about my likes, dislikes, blog, skin type and so on. It took about 15 minutes. That one survey gained me "1500 virtual coins" and with those you "buy" the products in their shop. Sometimes, their products are out of stock. I had to wait a few months so their inventory was back in stock.

I gained moisturizers and skincare products from this. It is up to you if you would like to review them, it is not required. However, if you do review them - you gain more "virtual coins" and with those you can "purchase" more products from their shop. It's a point gain kind of network, it doesn't take too much work, mainly just reviewing the products you receive. It's quite fun and you meet a community of other bloggers as well.

4) Brandbacker is another great service to receive product reviews and paid sponsored posts. This works as campaigns, you request to join the campaign available, and wait to be approved. It usually takes less than 3 days to receive approval. I have gotten product reviews from Glamour Dolls, Kimble beauty, One Direction Makeup and even several sponsored posts! I've received hair products, makeup, and many more beauty products. You are allowed to set your own date as well, which is perfect.

5) NetGalley is an amazing source, for e-ARC'S (E-books Advanced Reader Copies) You just have to simply sign up and you are in. I have received over 200 books from this including titles such as, Wrecked, The Ship Of The Brides, The Rosie Effect, Tempting Fate, The Killer Next Door, Thief(The Scarab Beetle #1), The Other Half, The Summer I found You, and so many others. The reviews are not required, you do not have to review every single book you request.

However, this network works with "ratios" The more reviews you have, the higher ratio you would have - you are offered more invitations and can be auto-approved for many titles by bestselling authors.

You simply request a book, and wait to be approved. You can request many books at the same time! They have free e-books on here as well, that you can read right away. It usually takes less than 48 hours for you to have the book approved and added to your bookshelf, where you can download in whatever e-book format you would like. If you do not have a kindle device, you can read the e-books in PDF files or by using the kindle app(it does not require for you to have a kindle now.)

6) Bethany House is a great blogger program to receive actual physical book ARC'S. I like e-books, with just one click I can receive it right away. However, I love traditional hard cover/paper back copies so much more. By clicking on this link - it tells you information about it. Then you proceed to sign up, it doesn't really require approval but you must have  a blog. They usually sent newsletters at the beginning of each month to your email - you receive two separate emails from non-fiction to fiction books.

You are allowed to select only book from each newsletter. You do have to review them though, it can jeopardize of receiving more books in the future. Its a great way to receive books free of no charge.

You can check more book blogger networks at BakerPublishingGroup.

7) Revell Reads is another great Blogger Tour Program. You receive actual physical ARC's books. Just like the one above, you simply sign up and they send two separate newsletters: fiction and non-fiction. However, with this one you can request as many books as you like. Again, please only request if you will review the books. This is limited to U.S and Canada only. I have received several books from this.

Hope this helps x

You can search more about blogger networks by simply googling it. Try "beauty blogger networks" or "book blogger networks" in the search engine. There's even fashion blogger networks as well. Try out some & see what works for you! What are some book and beauty networks do you participate in?
Thank you for reading as well. Leave your blog links in the comments & I'll be sure to check them out & follow :) Stay in tuned beautiful people ..
