Watch The Book Trailer Below!
- The concept of the book is really original and creative! It wasn't anything like I imagined before. The Twinkle title made me think of Disney movies, but it was much more than that. I think I'm getting the hang of science fiction now, although, this would be post apocalyptic too which happens to be one of my favorite genres. The trailer of this book is amazing - the fireworks especially that "twinkle."
- This is a fast faced novel that I enjoyed from the beginning to the end. Marcus Brandon, the richest man in the world has this idea to showcase live fireworks throughout the world. The catch? People who have seen the fireworks go blind within 22 hours later. The novel is detailed and it moves along quite quickly; however, it's an engaging novel that had me hooked since the first chapter, and not many books can do that. The novel is rather long though and it does drag out quite a bit, it would have worked better if it was shorter.
- The story is told from multiple POV'S that provides an insight on everyone, and you get to know the characters a lot more. The only thing that get's me confuse since I always seem to get confused in science fiction was the military mentions, it's helpful that the author Parkinson provided footnotes though. Twinkle thrills and engages the reader with action and suspense.
- It's well written and I thought this was a unique concept. I'm glad the author kept it PG-13, I'm kind of fed up of reading people's personal details in novels. I usually skip through it if it becomes too repetitive so I'm glad none of that happened here. I would really like to see a movie of this especially the fireworks scene.
